This statement was released before the current ceasefire.

One thing people may not be aware of is that the Peace & Justice Center (PJC), as well as being a place where people can meet and organize, offers a plethora of resources. Here are some of them. Housing is a major issue as rents continue to be difficult to impossible for people to meet. It’s the leading cause for homelessness. Most unhoused people, 77 percent of them, used to be renters around here. They need help and all of us may be a job loss or health issue away from being one of them.

Here are some options to consider for help.

Adult and Aging Division Sonoma County has two offices. The one in Santa Rosa is at 3725 Westwind Blvd, 1st Floor, while the Petaluma Office is at 5350 Old Redwood Hwy N #100. They offer many supportive programs, services and events, that support independence and quality of life for older adults (age 60+) and their families.

Catholic Charities Drop-in Center, 301 6th St. (Suite 108) in Santa Rosa is a drop-in center & shelter intake for single adults, women & families.

Committee on the Shelterless (COTS) 900 Hopper Street in Petaluma offers rapid rehousing for help with rent, security deposit, case management, housing search.

Face to Face at 873 Second Street in Santa Rosa. Face to Face clients who are managing HIV/AIDS who have been homeless, unemployed, lack good credit, and/or have no credit history find the task of searching for permanent housing daunting.

Interfaith Shelter Network (IFSN) at 2455 Bennett Valley Rd., Suite C200 in Santa Rosa provides supervised, structured transitional housing for men, women, and guardians with minor children and veterans.

Jets Senior Living Solutions Santa Rosa offers free senior living placement services to families in Sonoma County and northern California who need assisted living or memory care for a loved one.

Redwood Gospel Mission, 101 6th Street Santa Rosa, has intakes for shelter.

Sonoma County Aging & Disability Resource Hub provides people of all ages, income levels and abilities, with equitable access to information, assistance, and the support needed to live as independently as possible at home.

Transitional Living Program at The Salvation Army Santa Rosa Corps at 93 Stony Point Road helps men, who have graduated from an alcohol or drug rehabilitation program, transition back to securing employment, and to ultimately find permanent housing. They also offer emergency shelters and family service programs.
The Transitional Living Program operates a four-unit apartment building in Santa Rosa with a total of twelve beds. This program provides a structured, safe, and supportive environment, where newly recovered addicts can change their lives by having a place to call home for up to 24 months.

Sometimes people come into the PJC and ask for legal advice.
We are not lawyers but we can offer contact with lawyers.

Petaluma, CA 94954, (707) 347-9115 and Napa Valley College, 2277 Napa Vallejo Hwy, Napa, CA 94558, (707) 654-8405.
  • California Civil Rights Agency is the state agency charged with enforcing California’s civil rights laws. The mission of the CRD is to protect the people of California from unlawful discrimination in employment, housing, businesses and state-funded programs, and from bias-motivated violence, and human trafficking.
Our resource page offers much more than housing support. It includes food resources, domestic violence survivors’ support, pet food assistance, hygiene resources, labor resources, mental health referrals, labor, students, health resources and more. All of this can be accessed here. It’s one of the ways your PJC supports the community.

NOTE: We thank Community Market and Oliver’s for supporting our volunteer appreciation party.
