Peace & Justice Center in the Movement
by The PJC Board of Directors
Picture
The Peace & Justice Center has been buzzing with activism, both at the center and in the streets. We marched in the “No Kings Day“ of action and tabled at the rally that followed. Many people came by. Some were unaware of us. They were excited by the prospects the Peace & Justice Center offers. Some signed up for the eblast, where they could learn about upcoming protests, lectures, films and more. Others turned to the Peace Press for more extensive articles. Many signed petitions and even more joined the Peace & Justice Center. Our presence is vital to the movement.  We’ll continue to be in the streets as long as necessary.

In Santa Rosa, the No Kings march and rally was organized by a coalition that included Indivisible. Indivisible is a strong, national organization that will not allow the United States to be run by fascists. They meet at the center at 6:00 pm. on the first, third and occasional fifth Thursday of the month. Come by and lend your strength to their efforts to stop fascism.

The Party for Socialism and Liberation offers alternatives to our current economic system. They meet on the second and fourth Sunday of the month at 4:30 pm.

Veterans for Peace, people who’ve seen war and want to stop it, meet at the PJC on the second Tuesday of the month at 6:00 pm. You don’t have to be a veteran to join them.

On the lighter side we have a Zen healing group that meets on the third Sunday of the month at 9:30 pm. Breathe deeply and let your body heal through mindfulness and meditation.

Also, there is a chance to explore African wisdom on the first and fourth Saturday from 1:45 till 4:30 pm., through Griot Play. Come by and enjoy the experience.

Your Peace & Justice Center is waiting for you. Stop by between 1 to 4 pm. on Mondays through Fridays and visit with staff. Check out some of the organizations using the center to help create a world of peace through justice. Perhaps you are part of an organization which would like to be more visible by meeting publicly. Contact us and arrange for a meeting time. Reach out to your community through your Peace & Justice Center.
