Forest Protection Forum on Monday, July 31 at 4 PM PDT
Katherine Egland will speak on “Debunking Forest-Fueled Climate Myths”
Katherine will be speaking to us about the impacts of the wood pellet and biomass industries in the Southeast and their impact on communities of color.Wood pellet and biomass corporations are looking to make inroads into California, and their primary source of wood is forests. We should all be alarmed.

Katherine Egland is the Program Director and Co-founder of the Education, Economics, Environmental, Climate and Health Organization (EEECHO), based in Gulfport, Mississippi. She also chairs the Environmental and Climate Justice Committee for the NAACP. She has had a long and storied career addressing climate change issues from a civil rights, social justice and equity perspective.
