Café Frida Gallery is hosting the Sonoma County Movie Premiere and Reception for Living in Exile: Carlos Mejía Godoy, a short film by Jon Silver, on Thursday, May 18th at 6:00PM at Café Frida Gallery, 300 South A Street, Downtown Arts District, Santa Rosa.
Free admission. Food & beverages will be for sale.
Forced into exile and living in Santa Rosa, California, Carlos Mejía Godoy is a legendary musician and poet of Nicaragua’s Sandinista Revolution. In this documentary Carlos shares his music, poetry and paintings, while reflecting on Nicaragua’s current and historic fight for liberty. Through his stories he takes us to his hometown–Somoto, Nicaragua, from where he draws inspiration and hope for the future.
